Literally this. I drive a ‘91 pickup with no AC, so in the summer when it’s 100 degrees out I tend to drive shirtless with all the windows open. Also my hearing is shit from the military and I like my music to be loud enough to feel in my body. Not 100%, but you could hear it at a stop light.That said, I live right on a state highway next to an intersection with lots of traffic. People do this all the time and I can hear their music in my living room. I do not let it bother me though, because they may be in the same situation. At the end of the day, it’s not that big of a deal.

I’ve left out a lot, like he went to jail briefly when i was 9 and my mom started dating another man. He threatened to kill us all and shot out all of the windows in the home he was living in. Didn’t see him for some time after that. Basically, he has a lot of issues and I stay aware of them but have tried to navigate a relationship up until recently but I’ve been letting go of that. It’s too much effort.Then this past February his father died and there was a lot of drama over me not attending the funeral. A lot of threats, a lot of anger. He hasn’t really talked to me since. There's no excuse for not looking, but sometimes jaywalking can be a deliberate choice that involves more than just distance. There's two crosswalks I jaywalk at because they're unsafe. One is by my bank, and the "walk" signal coincides with a green right turn arrow(people always reply to me when I share this story saying that's impossible, but I assure you, it is a thing). Cars do not look, because they have a green and assume you're walking against the signal(see: "that's impossible!"). This is an unsafe crossing, and after nearly getting creamed by a psychotic old lady I started crossing in the crosswalk but against the light(waiting until it's clear and making a run for it) when it was actually safe to do so rather than whenever the crosswalk decided it was time to sacrifice a pedestrian. My AC broke at the beginning of the pandemic, but I didn’t really care because I wasn’t working, wasn’t going anywhere. Didn’t need it. Now it’s the end of June in Georgia and I’m starting to mind a little bit lol I do enjoy taking the long way home so I can keep my windows down, though. Some of my favorite memories are just driving around in the summer with the windows down and the music up. It’s like the pinnacle of summer nostalgia.
