I dont agree. Most AC units in cars that people have claimed to be broken around me just needed new freon. Myself included as the van wasnt the first one with that issue but the first one i fixed by myself. My grandpa fixed it in the first 2 cars i owned, both of which the original owner claimed was a seized ac unit even though they werent. It can be surprising the number of people that just write things off even though it really only needs a little tlc.

I’ve left out a lot, like he went to jail briefly when i was 9 and my mom started dating another man. He threatened to kill us all and shot out all of the windows in the home he was living in. Didn’t see him for some time after that. Basically, he has a lot of issues and I stay aware of them but have tried to navigate a relationship up until recently but I’ve been letting go of that. It’s too much effort.Then this past February his father died and there was a lot of drama over me not attending the funeral. A lot of threats, a lot of anger. He hasn’t really talked to me since. There's no excuse for not looking, but sometimes jaywalking can be a deliberate choice that involves more than just distance. There's two crosswalks I jaywalk at because they're unsafe. One is by my bank, and the "walk" signal coincides with a green right turn arrow(people always reply to me when I share this story saying that's impossible, but I assure you, it is a thing). Cars do not look, because they have a green and assume you're walking against the signal(see: "that's impossible!"). This is an unsafe crossing, and after nearly getting creamed by a psychotic old lady I started crossing in the crosswalk but against the light(waiting until it's clear and making a run for it) when it was actually safe to do so rather than whenever the crosswalk decided it was time to sacrifice a pedestrian. My AC broke at the beginning of the pandemic, but I didn’t really care because I wasn’t working, wasn’t going anywhere. Didn’t need it. Now it’s the end of June in Georgia and I’m starting to mind a little bit lol I do enjoy taking the long way home so I can keep my windows down, though. Some of my favorite memories are just driving around in the summer with the windows down and the music up. It’s like the pinnacle of summer nostalgia.
